With the latest development from DataTrak Ltd, the task of capturing your company's asset information and keeping it up to date has never been easier. Asset-FM enables users to quickly and efficiently capture any type of asset information utilising the latest Pocket PC / Windows Mobile devices.

Asset-FM is a complete asset management solution, utilising PDA's to collect information and then transferring the data at a touch of a button to the Asset-FM database system.

Asset-FM is completely user definable, so that all the field names within the Database and on the PDA can be configured to suit your particular requirements

The Asset-FM System has been developed using the latest .Net platform from Microsoft, utilising SQL Server as the database platform. This not only provides security and easy expansion, but also an increase in speed.

Data Capture

DataTrak Ltd utilises the latest range of lightweight and powerful PDA's. The software is developed to work on any Pocket PC (2003 onwards) and Windows Mobile (5 onwards) powered device, giving greater flexibility to the end user.

There are many different PDA devices in the market place today. We recommend the Opitcon range of handhelds, as they have been specifically designed to be used in the work place, and have integrated Barcode scanner technology. This enables each asset to be uniquely tagged and scanned eliminating any typing errors.

Asset-FM has user definable fields both within the database and the PDA. The user can control the number of questions/fields that are displayed on the PDA and has the ability to upload information against each question so that the answers can be selected from a pick list on the PDA, enabling a more standardised list of results. For example, a question relating to Manufacturer could have pre-set, DELL, IBM, CANON etc. By selecting the correct name from the list, it speeds up the process and eliminates errors.

The data capture on the PDA, works by applying barcodes to each location and recording its details such as Site, Building, Floor, Dept and Room. Within each location, uniquely numbered barcodes are applied to each asset, then scanned and when the relevant questions are displayed, the answers are selected from pick lists or entered . Portable Appliance Test data can also be entered into a specifically designed section allowing the system to be used in a dual role.

The system also has the ability to link to documents, pictures, in fact any windows based file. This makes the amount of information that can be stored against each asset limitless. The function is ideal for storing digital photographs, CAD drawings, Maps, Purchase orders, Warranty and Service Level Agreement documents. Every Asset, Location and User can have additional files linked to them. 

Asset-FM can produce reports on any aspect of the Asset data, either via the use of the in-built reports provided with the software, or via your own, custom reports. By creating your reports using Crystal Reports, you can integrate them directly into the software yourself. Reports can be viewed on screen, printed or exported in several formats, including Adobe Acrobat.

A modular system, Asset-FM has several bolt on options to help tailor the system to your needs.

This module uses a Pocket PC based handheld device runing Capture-FM Mobile to capture any asset data quickly, easily and accurately.

  

  

• Finance

This module allows you to record financial information for assets such as its purchased date, cost, who owns it and also calculate depreciation figures for every asset.

    

• PAT

This module allows you to record PAT test results against each asset - a necessity for Health and Safety regulations.

• Pre Planned Maintenance

This module allows you to keep track of warranty, maintenance and insurance policies for you assets, telling you when they are due for renewal. It also enables a scheduling of inspections  against assets, locations and users. Job sheets can be produced detailing the work to be done, and the system can keep track of jobs completed.
