Asset-FM (Handheld Bolt-on Module)
Collecting Asset data manually is a time consuming job, let alone the inputing of the collected data into a spreadsheet or database. This coupled with the potential for user error, means that many companies choose to collect the data using hand held devices such as the Opticon H19. These units come with integrated scanners that will scan a barcode on the asset, this allows the operator to then enter details such as description. Make and Model from a pre defined picklist (although they can also enter the descriptions etc manually). Questions are user definable. This reduces the room for user error and allows data to be collect at a much faster rate.
One of the main features of the hand held bolt-on is that it will allow you to import data collected externally by one of these devices (Running Capture-FM Mobile), directly into the Asset-FM database system. saveing time, reducing user error, but most importantly of all, saves you money!
The other main feature of the bolt-on is that, as well as importing data, it allows you to export data from the Asset-FM database to the handheld unit, ensuring that an operator has valid pick lists with correct descriptions etc. Therefore enabling for example year 2,3,4 etc annual audits to be a matter of hours, not days! Yet another time and money saving feature!
