Asset registers often get passed around departments who each recreate the data adding their own additional information to the end. This is often the case with finance team or those responsible for the asset valuation within your organisation.

This data is then often used to feed into other speadsheet database system where you keep track of current asset values, purchase price, supplier, lease information and much much more.
